Ecumaster Wheel Speed to CAN

The Ecumaster Wheel Speed to CAN module is the ultimate solution for integrating wheel speed data into your vehicle's digital ecosystem without compromising factory safety systems. In many modern vehicles, "tapping" into active ABS sensors can cause impedance shifts that trigger dashboard errors or disable the Anti-lock Braking System entirely. This module uses high-impedance differential inputs, allowing you to read 4 separate wheel speed sensors in parallel with an existing ABS system—or as a standalone expansion when your ECU has insufficient inputs.

Housed in a bespoke CNC-machined aluminium enclosure (IP65 rated), the module converts frequency-type signals into a high-speed CAN BUS stream. This enables advanced strategies such as traction control, launch control, pit speed limiting, and odometer functions for the EMU Black, EMU PRO, and ADU dash displays.

Technical Authority & Key Features

  • 4-Channel Differential Inputs: Specifically designed to read Magnetoresistive (Active), VR (Variable Reluctance), and Hall Effect sensors with precision.

  • ABS Transparency: High-impedance inputs ensure the original sensor signal is not disrupted, maintaining full functionality of the factory ABS and stability control.

  • Configurable Logic Thresholds: Features user-adjustable gain and logic levels to filter out electrical noise and ensure a clean signal at any vehicle speed.

  • Programmable Pull-Up/Down Resistors: Integrated 1kΩ pull-ups to 5V and various ground/supply resistors allow for direct connection to any sensor type without external hardware.

  • Flexible CAN 2.0A/B Communication: Fully customizable message IDs and data formats at bitrates up to 1Mbps, ensuring compatibility with Ecumaster, MoTeC, Link, and Haltech.

  • High-Frequency Processing: Supports a combined frequency of up to 50kHz, capturing accurate data from high-tooth-count trigger wheels even at triple-digit speeds.

  • OEM Format Support: Includes pre-defined templates for sending speed data in various OEM formats, simplifying integration with factory dashboards.
