Syvecs Bosch Full Range Knock Sensor
The Syvecs Bosch Full Range Knock Sensor is a high-sensitivity piezoelectric sensor designed to detect high-frequency engine vibrations associated with detonation (knock). Unlike basic sensors that are tuned to a narrow frequency, this "Broadband" or "Full Range" sensor captures a wide spectrum of acoustic data. This allows the Syvecs ECU to use advanced digital signal processing (DSP) to isolate the specific knock frequency of your engine, regardless of bore size or cylinder count.
Accurate knock detection is the most important line of defense for a high-performance engine. It allows the ECU to run optimal ignition timing for maximum power while maintaining a safety net that can instantly retard timing or reduce boost if detonation is detected.
Performance and Precision Engineering
This genuine Bosch sensor is the industry standard for motorsport applications due to its reliability and vibration-rejection capabilities.
-
Wide Frequency Range: Captures vibrations across a broad spectrum, allowing for precise knock windowing in the Syvecs SCal software.
-
Resonance-Free Design: The non-resonant piezoelectric element ensures that the sensor does not "color" the data, providing a clean signal for the ECU's knock processor.
-
Durable Housing: Encased in a rugged, heat-resistant plastic shell with a reinforced metal mounting sleeve to ensure consistent torque and contact.
-
Compact Form Factor: The 20mm mounting hole and low-profile design allow for installation in tight locations on the engine block.
Calibration and Wiring Data
The knock sensor generates its own AC voltage signal based on vibration. It must be connected to a dedicated "Knock" input on the Syvecs ECU using high-quality shielded twisted-pair wiring to prevent electrical interference.
Installation Note: The sensor must be torqued to exactly 20Nm (15 lb-ft) against a flat, clean surface on the engine block. Incorrect torque will result in inaccurate signal levels and poor knock detection.
Electrical Pinout: Pin 1: Signal (Connects to ECU Knock Input) Pin 2: Signal Ground (Connects to ECU Knock Ground)
