Ask an expert!

Designed in-house, the Bourne HPP Billet Timing Chain Tensioner Cover provides a permanent solution to front timing cover oil leaks on Honda K-Series engines.

If you are upgrading camshafts, replacing a worn timing chain, or servicing your tensioner, replacing the factory access plate is essential. The original Honda steel cover easily bends and distorts upon removal, compromising its seal. Machined from 6061 aluminium, our cover provides a rigid, perfectly flat mating surface engineered to withstand extreme thermal cycling, high-RPM vibration, and repeated track maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I replace the OEM Honda timing chain tensioner cover?

The factory Honda cover is made from thin stamped steel that easily bends when pried off during timing chain or camshaft maintenance. Upgrading to a 6061 billet aluminium cover ensures a rigid, perfectly flat surface that won't warp, permanently preventing timing cover oil leaks.

Does the Bourne HPP tensioner cover require special bolts?

No. The Bourne HPP K-Series cover is specifically engineered to reuse your original factory OEM Honda cover bolts (M6 thread), ensuring exact thread engagement and flush mounting.

How do you seal the Bourne HPP billet tensioner cover?

The cover features a custom-machined perimeter channel. Lay a bead of Hondabond (or equivalent high-temp RTV sealant) directly inside this track, press the cover into place, and secure it with your OEM bolts.
