Ecumaster EGT Sensor Boss / Mount
The Ecumaster EGT Sensor Boss/Mount is the critical hardware interface for securing K-Type thermocouples into an exhaust manifold. This assembly, often referred to as a "compression fitting," consists of a weld-on bung, a threaded body, and a compression olive. It is engineered to provide a gas-tight seal at temperatures exceeding 1200°C and pressures common in high-boost turbocharged applications.
The M10x1 standard is the official specification for the Ecumaster Professional EGT (Inconel sheath) sensors, while 1/8" NPT variants are frequently used for compatibility with WHP and third-party motorsport sensors.

Installation Best Practices

Manifold Placement: Position the boss approximately 50mm to 100mm from the cylinder head exhaust flange for individual cylinder monitoring.

Angle of Entry: Install the sensor at an angle that prevents moisture/condensation from collecting inside the bung, which can lead to probe corrosion over time.

Sealing Note: Never use PTFE tape or plastic sealants on EGT mounts. Exhaust temperatures will vaporize these materials instantly. The mechanical compression of the olive provides all necessary sealing.

Tightening: Once the depth is set and the nut is tightened, the probe is permanently "locked" in that olive. To change depth later, a new olive and nut are typically required.
