Ecumaster Digital Gear Display
The Ecumaster Digital Gear Display is a high-visibility, 7-segment indicator designed to give drivers immediate confirmation of the current gear—the most critical data point during competitive racing. Unlike basic displays, this unit is a "smart" device capable of calculating gear position internally or receiving it via a high-speed digital stream.
Housed in a compact enclosure, it features a large, bright LED display and three RGB shift light LEDs that are fully customizable. Whether you are using a modern sequential gearbox with a barrel sensor or a standard H-pattern transmission, the Digital Gear Display provides a professional, "factory-race" cockpit feel with 100% reliable data.
Technical Authority & Key Features
-
Flexible Input Sources:
-
CAN BUS: Receives gear and RPM data from any CAN-enabled ECU (Ecumaster, MoTeC, Haltech, Link, etc.).
-
OBDII: Can calculate gear position via vehicle speed and RPM directly from the factory diagnostic port.
-
Analog Sensor: Supports 0-5V signals from gearbox barrel position sensors for ultra-accurate sequential monitoring.
-
-
Intelligent Gear Calculation: If no direct sensor is available, the device can calculate the current gear by comparing engine RPM to vehicle wheel speed.
-
3-LED RGB Shift Light: Features three multi-colour LEDs at the top of the unit. Fully programmable for shift points, drive modes, or over-temp/limp mode warnings.
-
Auto-Dimming & Brightness: Display brightness is fully adjustable (0-100%) via CAN messages or a physical potentiometer, ensuring perfect legibility from noon sunlight to night racing.
-
Overheat Protection: Built-in thermal management automatically scales brightness from 100% at 40° down to 0% at 80° to protect the internal electronics.
-
Rugged Construction: Supplied with the necessary connectors and terminals for a professional, vibration-resistant installation.
